National readers included, since you will face these same people trying to close down your power plants and replace them with fairy dust generators. National readers have been worried that I wasn’t writing any more, but I’ve been buried under local issues. I encourage national readers to look near you for similar activities, especially your local governments, and speak your mind. There’s no magic bullet, just get moving and git’ er done!

Last night at the Palmer Center for Alaskan Socialism, the Enemies of Alaskans, Cook Inlet Keepers, MEA Ratepayers, Sierra Club, Alaska Center for the Environment, “Greenie Weenies from W. Virginia”, and the Resurrection Bay Conservation Alliance made fools of themselves in a racist, emotional rant against American jobs and homeowners and against “white occupiers”. These pathetic creatures opposed using or mining coal, and opposed white people, white flour and other foods eaten by white people that make native Alaskans fat.(1) They, along with millions living next to coal power plants, were blithely unaware that more than half of all American energy is produced by coal and no viable alternatives exist other than nuclear or hydroelectric power, which they also oppose. The reason they are unaware is that modern coal plants produce miniscule levels of pollutants that matter.

One young mother carrying a baby, obviously distraught by the emotional displays going on inside the anti coal presentation came out and demanded to know why we were “so selfish” and declared that she washed her baby’s cloth diapers by hand after heating the water on a wood stove. Although I informed her that I merely wanted her to be able to afford electricity for heat, hot water and lights in Stygian Alaskan winters, I didn’t have the heart to tell her that her time might be more useful reading to her son than washing diapers by hand. I also reminded here that her wood stove creates more pollution than a modern coal power plant (per btu). Other greenies came out and got into their hydrocarbon powered Subaru’s and drove off to their hydrocarbon powered houses, oblivious to the hypocrisy of their actions. Note to Greenies: when we see you carrying your Subaru on top of your bicycles rather than vice versa, we will pay attention to your antics. Otherwise, you just look stupid.

The Enemies of Alaskans, who’ve disrupted hundreds of meeting around here for the last decade, were unwilling to allow signs opposing their irrational views to be displayed in a public facility, so we displayed them to hundreds of mostly approving commuters for two hours on Main Street in Palmer. (1) Sharp eyed viewers might note that I had my US Border Patrol hat on as I was working to keep America free of communists. The organizers of the anti coal presentation had rented the Palmer Train Depot, a Palmer City public facility and in typical leftist fashion they could deny us our first amendment right to assemble.

I am proud to report that for the first time in years ticked off conservatives outnumbered leftists. Tea Party participants came out in force and expressed their opinions forthrightly. It was clear from their comments they understood the issues and wanted responsible use of natural resources, but would no longer tolerate the lunacy of the “Friends” of Mad Zoo and their leftist allies. This trend is the first positive result I’ve seen since the Tax Cap was adopted. I highly encourage readers in Anchorage, Seward and Homer to go to these meetings and speak your piece, for it is your electric rates, your pocketbooks, your jobs, and ultimately your businesses that will suffer from these spawn of Obama’s “No Energy Plan”. The schedule is below. Let’s Roll!

(1) The public racist rant apparently came from a member of the Chickaloon Tribal Council.
